SOMOS Book Discussion Group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the SOMOS office on Paseo del Pueblo Sur (across from Smith’s).  Since January, 2010, we have been reading memoirs (the Liar’s Club, Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonite, Boyhood, The Year of Magical Thinking, etc).  For Wednesday, 9/1/10, we will be discussing Mary Karr’s most recent memoir, “Lit”, about her recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.  Additionally look for an announcement regarding the monthly book review segment on KVOT, starting in September 2010, in which book group member, Jan Smith, will present a book review of books read in the group.  Books are selected by members and the facilitator of each meeting is alternated.  All are welcome!
